Would we rather have children call their body parts 'balls' or 'nuts?'
May I just say . . . you rock, Mr. Hopkins!
I can recall being 10 years old and being teased for not knowing what
"balls" meant . . . and that was the 1970's. So I'm guessing kids that age in 2007 probably know what a scrotum is, with or without LUCKY.
I often hear the pro-censorship argument that, of course, they know that kids are aware of 4-letter words, but teachers/librarians/parents don't want to assign/buy/use/recommend books with profanity because it sets a bad example and might be seen to be an endorsement of using profanity in school, etc. So
. . . in this case, are they worried about "endorsing" the word, "scrotum?"
