I am not sure--because my memory is a convenient one--but I think that when I showed wordless picture books I asked the children (and when I taught university students) to "write" the story based on the art. Had I told the story it would have been mine, not theirs.
Maybe i was lazy? Maybe I was really interested in someone else's interpretations. Maybe...???
