It's the first of the month and we are permitted to bloviate about subjects other than the one at hand.
Molly Ivins' passing is a blow to my awareness of world that uses sharp, precise humor to prick serious balloons and cast light on matters in Texas, (of course) and the wider world (not that some Texans think there is a wider world.)
Big Grandma will miss Miss Molly and hopes she and Barbara Jordan and Ann Richards are sitting together and casting snorts and laughter our way--as well as positive thoughts about saving the Constitution of the U.S.
