Yes, this is the true joy of sharing the award winners- not only do I see the enthusiastic response of the (k-5) students, but I gain new insight through their observations- especially in a book like Flotsam that has so many delicious details to be revealed. It is fascinating to see their "AHA" moments, and their interpretations. One first grader was excited to notice the pig on the title page amongst all the other 'flotsam' articles- he almost leaped across the room to point to the Caldecott poster to point out The Three Pigs! I already have a long waiting list for the book once I release it for circulation, and have ordered several more copies. This year's winner is a real hit in my school! Micki
