Has anyone mentioned Letters from a Midnight Driver? I thought the book was great. It made me laugh and cry at the same time. A very poignant intergenerational story.

I think I'm echoing a few other people, but three of my favorites this year have been--
Frankenstein Makes a Sandwich--Adam Rex--for pure playfulness and fun. Plus it has monsters in it, of course.
Not a Box--Antoinette Portis--for a beautiful simplicity.
Ptolemy's Gate-Jonathon Stroud--A brilliant ending to one of the best fantasy series I've read in ages.
All the best,
Arthur Slade
