The Maryland Library Association just announced the winners of the 2006 Maryland Blue Crab Young Reader Awards. The award is given to outstanding books for beginning and reluctant readers published in 2005 in four categories: Easy fiction. Easy non-fiction, Transitional Fiction and Transitional Non-fiction. For more information about the Blue Crab Award and previous winners, click on this webpage on the Maryland Library Association's website: http://www.mdlib.org/divisions/csd/blue.html
I was on this year?s committee and thought this list would be relevant given the upcoming discussion about books for reluctant readers.
