The Nye Memorial Children?s Literature Trip offers three options this summer. The main tour will be Iceland and Scotland, June 29 to July 11, with two add-on possibilities, the English Lake District, and then London, ending July 18. Meetings with authors and literary and historical sites are scheduled from sagas to Swallows and Amazons to the Bloomsbury set. Reading the World IX will take place at the University of San Francisco, February 24, 25. 2007. This conference, celebrating Multicultural Literature for Children and Young Adults will feature Joseph Bruchac, Ashley Bryan, Debra Frasier, Darwin Henderson, Yuyi Morales, Teri Sloat and Jane Yolen as keynoters.There will be over 30 break out sessions, with presenters such as Alma Flor Ada, Isabel F. Campoy, Elizabeth Partridge, Christy Hale, Margarita Engle, Carolyn Lehman, Marianne Halpin, etc. - plus a Book Market with signings and the Otter Awards Dinner.
