Anne Carroll Moore Lecture on November 13, 2006: The New York Public Library, Office of Children's Services, invites you to attend a lecture by Patricia C. McKissack on Monday, November 13, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at the Donnell Library Center, 20 West 53rd Street, New York, NY. The lecture, entitled "A Patchwork of Stories; Books Filled with Memories," will be held in the Bankers Trust Company Auditorium. Guests are invited for coffee in the Donnell Children's Room at 10:00 a.m. where books from the annual publication Children's Books 2006: One Hundred Titles for Reading and Sharing and selections of original art from the titles on the list will be on exhibit. This event marks the 50th Anniversary of the Anne Carroll Moore Lecture series.

Book Fest on February 3, 2007 Don't despair. Our fall Book Fest Conference on books for children and teens will take place on February 3, 2007, at the Bartos Forum of The New York Public Library. I hope to have information on our website in a couple of weeks. M. T. Anderson will be the keynote speaker. The afternoon panel will be about graphic novels and will include Calvin Reid, Mark and Siena Siegel, Jennifer and Matt Holm, and Misako Rocks! As soon as we have the book discussion leaders and lists finalized, the information will be posted on our website at www.nypl.org/events/bookfest.html and mailed to those of you on our mailing list.
