         Freeport Public Library will be hosting Family Book Fest 2 on Saturday, October 21 from 10:00 to 4:00. The event is free to the public. Of the 17 authors coming to autograph books for all ages, 10 are members of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI).
        Activities and entertainment include: story time for preK--6th; book talks for middle school and junior high ages; poetry reading by published Rockford poet, Christine Swanberg; arts and crafts for elementary ages; The Underground Railroad in IL with author and historian, Glennette Tilley Turner; StoryVine Theater with a mime and storyteller; Community Drum Circle; two drawings for book basket prizes.
        The day's events are sponsored by: ABC Writer's Group, Freeport Public Library, Northwestern Illinois Reading Council, Clarence Mitchell Library at Highland Community College.
