Today's my birthday so it seems apt to be announcing the birth of my blog, educating alice (what else would I call it?). My baby is pretty scrawny despite her long gestation (I've been contemplating doing a blog for a couple of years), but I hope to bulk her up quickly by nattering on there just as I do here about books, teaching, etc.
