Hi, All
I will probably write some more later, but just oof the top of my head I thnk of the "information" embedded in the dainty illustrations in so many books by DEMI and yet one spend lots of time lookiing for the tiny details she always includes.
Does anyone still look at the wordless books by John Goodal with his attention to detail about clothing, travel, social status in the early 20th century England.
How about Jerry Pinkney's oversisied book on Black Cowboys. That has been a winner for me with some middle schoolers who thought that unless you played basket ball you had not lived!
