Thursday, October 5, 2006 4:30 pm Jon Scieszka returns to Bank Street Bookstore to help launch a new series of Time Warp Trio books. The popular series has inspired a television show, graphic novels, and beginning readers. The versatile
(but always hilarious) Jon is also the author of best-selling picture books, The True Story of the Three Little Pigs and The Stinky Cheese Man. Ages 6 and up.
*Saturday, October 14, 2006 11:00 am Fly away with Peter Pan to the enchanted island Neverland! Come hear Tony Award-winning actor Jim Dale read selections from the chapter book adaptation of the classic novel, Peter Pan. Jim has created a voice for every character in all six Harry Potter audiobooks, over 200 voices to date. Space is limited * free tickets will be distributed at the bookstore. Ages 5 and up.
Wednesday, October 18, 2006 5:00 pm Meet award-winning author and illustrator Mark Teague as he reads from his latest book, Pancakes for Supper. Mark has created art for more than 20 picture books, including the New York Times bestsellers How Do Dinosaurs Say Goodnight? and Dear Mrs. LaRue: Letters from Obedience School. Ages 3 and up.
*Tuesday, October 24, 2006 7:00 pm Meet Tomie dePaola, the author/illustrator of more than 200 books for young readers. Tomie's numerous books are favorites of children and teachers. In this rare appearance, he will discuss his latest book, Christmas Remembered, and meet and greet fans. Tomie is happy to autograph books, but he is not able to personalize them. Space is limited - free tickets will be distributed at the bookstore.
*Please note: Events with an (*) asterisk require a ticket for entry. Tickets will be given out while supplies last (up to 4 tickets per person). Ticket holders are guaranteed entry up to 10 minutes before the start of the event.
