Dear CCBC-Net community,
We welcome individuals from the Washington, D.C. area to the following event:
The Hispanic Division and the Center for the Book in the Library of Congress invite you to the presentation of The Americas Award for Children and Young Adult Literature by the Consortium of Latin American Studies Programs (CLASP).
The award will be presented to writer, teacher, poet, performance artist Juan Felipe Herrera for his book Cinnamon Girl: letters found inside a cereal box (HarperCollins, Joanna Cotler Books, 2005).
Herrera, who previously won the Americas Award for Crashboomlove (1999), holds the Tomas Rivera Endowed Chair in the Department of Creative Writing at the University of California, Riverside.
