Even though this article is by an adult author (Nick Hornby) and for adults, I think there is a lot in it that transfers to our charge as well, and reminded me of something else that I often share with reluctant readers.
You do NOT have to finish the book. If you don't like it, stop. All reading is not homework, and some books are just not going to be good to you, so stop.
Anyway, I really related to his insights, and I hope that you can see some things that transfer to reluctant young people as well.
