This isn't a suggestion for specific books, but a reminder that young people, including reluctant readers, will often pay more attention to their peers than the adults in their lives. Classroom or library programming that takes advantage of this by including activities such as student booktalks and book reviews, student led literature groups and circles, and buddy reading (matching intermediate and primary students), can be engaging for all students.
