Although I also dislike the visual depiction of Nancy in the graphic novels (especially those by the artist who took over around #4), I was surprised by how well the stories transferred to the graphic novel format. It was well suited to the fast action and drama in typical plots.
What's also interesting is that while spandex-Nancy may be prominently featured on the covers of the graphic novels, the covers for the Nancy Drew, Girl Detective series (the regular series) don't show Nancy's face or figure at all, except for a shot of her eyes and a smaller image of her mouth, both from the 1960s cover illustration.
