Well, I've refrained from taking part because I've got a lot on my plate at the moment, and it would take a while to pull together all the references. But really - Sayers's article, while good (I had it slotted for inclusion in a collection of Disney criticism I was compiling a few years back, which unfortunately fell through), is over 40 years old. There has been a HUGE amount of scholarship on Disney in the intervening decades - in particular, it has become almost an academic cottage industry over the past 10 years. If you are going to read the criticism, try for something a bit newer. Even my own article on *The Little Mermaid* ("Moral Simplification in Disney's *The Little Mermaid*, *Lion and Unicorn* 17, 1 (June 1993) 83-92)is showing gray hairs by now.
