Monica's reference to the Visions in Poetry series reminded me of the two I saw recently - The Highwayman, illustrated by Murray Kimber as a 1930s art-deco gangster era piece, is sure to grab today's teens and reminds me of Shakespeare done in modern dress, especially a Two Gentlemen of Verona I once saw that was set in Al Capone's Chicago.

Visions in Poetry also did a new take on The Lady of Shalott last year with illustrations by Genevieve Cote, very stylized and vaguely Edwardian. I'm not a huge fan of overly-illustrated poetry, but these two volumes give new life to old "chestnuts" in a startling way. They are well-designed to attract teen readers.
