I agree with this list of "Boxcar children" "eight Cousins" (and anything Alcott) but I also remember a book called "The Swallows and the Amazons" about two groups of children sailing around a lake and trying to outsmart each other. Does anyone remember that book? It was one of my favorites for summer reading as a kid. Lynne
