I had the chance to hear the Pinkneys speak at the Festivla of Faith and Art (I think that was the name of the conference) in Grand Rapids, MI this past April. This family of authors/illustrators is a national treasure. Gloria, in particular, gave an inspiring talk where she talked about writing, her faith, and the inter-connectivity of everyday life. Literally (and, I guess, figuratively) all of life seems to linked, intertwined= fate, coincidence, the hand of God.
