Before we end the discussion of books on art and artists, I wanted to add that while Harold and the Purple Crayon is my personal favorite, Marc Aronson's YA nonfiction, Art Attack, is an interesting take on the artist's role in society as rebel and catalyst for social change. I also loved Elizabeth Partridge's Restless Spirit: The Life and World of Dorothea Lange. Susanna Reich www.susannareich.com Penelope Bailey Takes the Stage (Marshall Cavendish, 2006) Jose! Born to Dance: The Story of Jose Limon (Paula Wiseman/Simon & Schuster, 2005) Clara Schumann: Piano Virtuoso (Clarion, 1999)
