[CCBC-Net] Childhood of Famous American series (BookswithOrangeCovers)

Hi--some of the books you have may be the same as the original orange covered books published by the Bobbs-Merrill Company between 1932 and 1976. But many of today's Childhood of Famous Americans Series published by Simon and Schuster/Aladdin are being rewritten by new authors. The only way to tell for sure is to look at the copyright page. If the copyright information mentions the Bobbs-Merrill Company, then the book is the same text as the original. If not, then it has been rewritten by Simon and Schuster/Aladdin.

Hope this helps.

I have a selection of the still published "Childhood of Famous Americans" books (now with a blue, white and red cover) on my elementary school library

shelves. They are read regularly by a certain group of young readers. Can anyone
tell me if/how these titles differ from the "orange cover" versions that loom so large in the memory of some list members?
