Hi, everyone,
For those of you planning to attend ALA later this month, be sure to mark your calendars for a terrific program on Monday morning:
Charlemae Rollins President's Program: Raising Readers: The National Early Literacy Panel Report Morial Convention Center, Monday, June 26, 10:30-12:30.
What is the most up-to-date and influential research on early literacy education? How might it impact our daily work and the ALSC/PLA Every Child Ready to Read _at_Your Library project? Dr. Timothy Shanahan, president of the International Reading Association and chair of the National Early Literacy Panel, will report on the Panel's recently released synthesis of early literacy research. A reactor panel of Every Child national trainers will connect the research to library-based early literacy work.
Whether you're involved in Every Child Ready to Read programs or just want to stay current on the latest information, this is the program for you! Hope to see you there-
Caroline
