  The Association of Children's Librarians of Northern California recently held its annual Institute. This year, the focus was on Transitional books
(those books that serve children who have outgrown easy readers and for whom regular length children's novels are too difficult). ACL has some extra bibliographies made for the workshop left to sell at cost. "A New Chapter: Transitional Books for Children," a 45 page annotated bibliography, is available for
$6.50 plus 1.50 postage (total of $8.00). All orders must be prepaid with checks made out to ACL, and sent to: Association of Children's Librarians of Northern California, P.O. Box 12471, Berkeley, CA 94712.
  We also have some copies of our annual ACL Distinguished Books list, a 20 page annotated bibliography of 2005 titles selected for outstanding merit. Those are $5 (for cost and postage); orders need to be prepaid to the address above.
