I am constantly rereading some poetry to realize the changes in my interpretations. In times like these when I am so distraught about the situation in my nation, I go to Arnold's "Dover Beach" to realize it has all happened before. I read other poems and find new ones-- which need rereading and rethinking. Layers appear that I did not know were there. We grow.
The Bible is another book I am constantly reading. The translation I use is elegant, simple, filled with deep thoughts, and very moving. It is also an older translation and helps me come to grips with myself and these present times.
