I have to put my vote in for "Forever" by Judy Blume. I was never one to go to the library in junior high so I don't exactly remember how the book got in my hands. It was one of those books that got passed from girl to girl until everyone had read it. That book was a turning point for me because it made me realize there were books out there that I actually would enjoy reading. I had stopped reading for pleasure probably 3 or 4 years before that.
I like that "Forever" is referenced heavily in "A Bad Boy Can Be Good For a Girl" by Tanya Lee Stone. That book is currently making the rounds with the girls at my school and because of it they are all wanting to read "Forever" as well. I think they like it today as much as I did 20 years ago.
