Lisa's post -- "Right next to it were other books that I took out. Loved them. At some point had an aha moment. All the books that I loved were right next to each other on the bottom shelf. All the books I loved were written by the same person!!!" -- reminded me of the way I used to choose books at the library. I was very methodical. I headed straight for the fantasy shelves, since I was working my way through the Narnia books, and one day picked up the wrong Lewis -- Hilda Lewis's The Ship That Flew. At first I was disappointed that it wasn't a Narnia book, but I loved it, and after reading it only regretted that it wasn't part of a series. Another book I found on my own, that I wouldn't normally have chosen, was Lucile Morrison's The Lost Queen of Egypt, which was probably the first book of historical fiction to completely draw me into a past world.
