I also loved Marion Zimmer Bradley's THE MISTS OF AVALON, but even better for me was T.H. White's THE ONCE AND FUTURE KING. One of my very favorites that I first read in high school and have reread many times since. A true masterpiece and touchstone for Arthurian legend (well, next to Mallory . . .).
