Don't forget A Pack of Lies by Mc Caughrean, a wonderful group of short stories around antiques in a small shop told by a young boy who comes in
"off the street". It's not for a reluctant reader, but the stories within the story work well for students who may need to pick it up and put it down around a heavy work schedule. I'd suggest it for 7th and 8th graders, both boys and girls. If you haven't read it, pick it up. It may not quite fit the full "fantasy" definition but I see it as quite magical.
