Speaking of dragons, you'll want to keep an eye out for A PRACTICAL GUIDE TO DRAGONS, which will be published by Mirrorstone Books in October of this year. It's a picture book written in the voice of Sindri Suncatcher, the kender wizard from the Dragonlance: The New Adventures series. Sindri is under the tutelage of Maddoc, a black robed wizard, and within the story, the book is the result of an assignment to chronicle all the dragons of Krynn. It will appeal to middle-grade readers of the series and adult fans of Dragonlance alike, as well as anyone who has an interest in all sorts of dragons.
Here's the description from the back cover:
"This beautifully illustrated new field guide to the habits of dragons brings readers of all ages into a magical and mysterious world where dragons come alive! Young dragon hunters will benefit from the helpful tips, secret maps, and fascinating dragon anatomy, while every reader will be amazed by the gorgeous variety of dragons included. With lavish, full-color art from some of the fantasy genre's most talented illustrators, and lively descriptions of all types of dragons, this book is truly an enchanting read."
It's still a few months out until the book will be in bookstores, but if you'll be attending BEA or ALA, stop by the Wizards of the Coast booth for a sneak peek.
