I would like to strongly recommend Darkness Over Denmark by Ellen Levine. (Holiday House, 2000) We?ve used this well written nonfiction work as part of an eight grade Holocaust unit. The book details how a complex group of factors resulted in almost all of Denmark?s Jews being saved.
