For children's poetry and art from those terrible times, never forget: ....And I Never Saw Another Butterfly.
I have a first U.S. edition which was sent me when I lived in Italy. I read and showed it to all my 7-8-9th graders and they had a much clearer idea of what happened to people their own age and younger.
It is also an interesting choral.
Big Grandma
More later.
