Thanks to both Stephanie and Mayra for your personal stories of using poetry with children!
  There is such a diversity of both anthologies and collections to choose from. Just on my shelf I have poems about trees, (George) things that have motion (Dotlich) Riddle poems
(Lewis) family (Wong) Colors and nature (Yolen) cows (Schertle) and the list goes on and on. Anthologies of science and math (Hopkins) and a new Geography collection. Also poems of different forms (both Harley and Janeczko), etc. The list is endless. Finding a new poem is like finding a treasure, and if we can pass this on to our children we are giving them such a gift.
