I, too, keep thinking that John Lennon All I Want Is the Truth won the Sibert and am just now reading it. I cannot understand why it didn't unless there are details that are inaccurate that I'm not aware of and don't care about as i'm reading the book. The book is wonderful, at least for an old almost hippie (never smoked pot or wore jeans or had long hair--even though I'm female, but I was there in the spirit of peace and love). The Beatles really made an incredible difference in the world (whether good or bad) at a time when people were looking for something different. This is a good , balanced look at how they came to make a difference. It has as much information as i want about the Beatles and pictures I've never seen. i love it and I've been recommending it to everyone--even grown-ups.

Isn't this sort of on topic? We're discussing what didn't win the Siebert as a definition of what defines the winners? The winner and honor book sound interesting, but they probably go beyond my information needs or interests. That will probably be the case with teens, too. I realize that the award is not for popularity or teen appeal, but still.
. . .
