This has been a very interesting discussion about The Boy int he Striped Pajamas, but I do need to bring the discussion back around to our scheduled topic, the 2006 Batchelder Award and Honor books.
The issues Ruth and others have raised, however, have given us an idea for a future CCBC-Net topic on children's literature about the Holocaust. We'll schedule this for an upcoming month, and will look forward to continuing this discussion then. And perhaps by then, more of us will have had a chance to read the book in question.
