The 3 Apples Book Award: A New York State Children's Choice Award

Hey New Yorkers! Come join the fun, and participate in the first 3 Apples Book Award!
The 3 Apples Book Award has been developed to encourage the joy of reading for pleasure, and to give the children of New York State the opportunity to participate in honoring their favorite books.
It is co-sponsored by the Youth Services and School Library Media Sections of the New York Library Association, which together represent the public and school libraries of the state.
Each year children in grades 3-6 (ages 8-12) nominate their favorite book, creating a statewide ballot of fifteen of the most popular titles. After reading or listening to at least three of the nominated books, the children vote to select one as their favorite. That book and its author are honored with the presentation of the 3 Apples Book Award, and celebrations take place across the state in school and public libraries
To Join In: Starting March 1st enter your students' nominations for their favorite books at www.3applesbookaward.org <http://www.3applesbookaward.org>
GUIDELINES for NOMINATIONS
1. Beginning March 1st of each year, nominations are accepted from New York State students who are in grades 3-6 or ages 8-12. 2. One nomination per child is allowed. 3. The nomination must be a specific title, not a whole series. 4. Nomination forms can be found under the section About the Award and printed from the website. 5. Only nominations with complete information will be considered.
DEADLINE for submission is MARCH 31, 2006
The password for entering nominations is Library
