What a great range of excellent books selected by the Printz committee! A superb novel as the medal-winner and another fine novel as an Honor, one of the best poetry works for older readers to come along in a long time, Elizabeth Partridge's outstanding biography, and a strong collection of short stories. All are works I would hope to see older kids reading, and in my dream world high school teachers would be familiar with such great YA literature and use it in their teaching. I'll comment on individual works later, but I thought it was the RANGE that was so remarkable this year.
