Wanted to let everyone know that the Bologna Children's Book Fair invited us back. Do contact me, if you can join us!

The 3rd Annual SCBWI Bologna Conference will be held Saturday and Sunday, March 25-26, 2006 in Bologna, Italy (the weekend prior to the largest children's book fair in the world, the Bologna International Children's Book Fair). The SCBWI welcomes YA author Scott Westerfeld, author of PRETTIES and other books for young adults, Justine Larbalestier, author of MAGIC OR MADNESS and a number of other titles, Doug Cushman (author-illustrator of CLUB SANDWICH and many others, and Sara Rojo (illustrator of AMIGOS Y VECINOS and other books written by Lawrence Schimel). Keynote and workshop topics include: "Slanguage: Teen Voices and Teen Vernaculars"; "How to Write a Synopsis: Stand-Alones and Multi-Volume Works"; "Creating Characters and Animating Them"; "You Talk Funny: Regionalism and Voice"; "A is for Agent"; "Where Craft & Acquisitions Meet." Other speakers include editors: Victoria Arms/Bloomsbury, Judy Zylstra/ Eerdmans, and others; agents: Rosemary Canter/PFD, Barry Goldblatt/ Barry Goldblatt Literary, Rosemary Stimola, and others.
