[CCBC-Net] GEISEL AWARD

I would assume the allusion is to the Rosetta Stone, which contained the same inscription in multiple ancient languages, thus allowing archeologists for the first time to translate hieroglyphics - though that wouldn't eliminate the possibility of a further jest upon his wife's name. Phil Nel did a book on Seuss - he might know, also.

And Theodor Geisel wrote at least one book using the pseudonym of Rosetta Stone. The book was originally published in the 1975 under the pseudonym of Rosetta Stone, Because A Little Bug Went Ka-Choo! was relaunched (HarperCollins, 2001) with a stylish new cover design which reveals, for the first time, the true identity of the author - Dr. Seuss himself!

I always assumed that the pseudonym was a play on the prior name of his second wife Audrey Stone. Never verified that. Perhaps you know Lee.
