I never post & I'm off topic here but I have to comment. I often hear No Child Left Behind as an excuse to not fit literature into the curriculum. Another common one now is a guided reading program. Truthfully, though many, many teachers still find ways to integrate literature into their everyday classroom experience. Picture books are frequently used as springboards for topics in science & social studies. Most teachers still take 15 minutes a day to read to their class from a novel or chapter book. Don't give up hope of having your book used in the classroom. There is still a lot of reading going on in classrooms across the country. Lisa
