While not presented with the bevy of other rewards given out at the ALA's Mid-Winter meetings, there is a fairly new but prestigious award given annually to the author of the best picture book text published in the U.S. This is the Charlotte Zolotow Award that is administered by the CCBC in Madison, WI who hosts this list-serv.
