The Children?s Services department of the Allen County Library in Fort Wayne, Indiana has completed its Mock Caldecott, Mock Newbery, and Mock Sibert Election programs which were offered over the last two weekends. Here are the winners!
MOCK NEWBERY:
Winner: Each Little Bird That Sings by Debbie Wiles
Three Honor books were selected: Chicken Boy by Frances O?Roark Dowell Defiance by Valerie Hobbs Gentle?s Holler by Kerry Madden.
MOCK SIBERT:
Winner: Hitler Youth: Growing Up in Hitler?s Shadow by Susan Bartoletti
Three Honor Books were selected: 10,000 Days of Thunder: A History of the Vietnam War by Philip Caputo Good Brother, Bad Brother by James Cross Giblin Let?s Talk About Race by Julius Lester
MOCK CALDECOTT:
Winner: Show Way by Jacqueline Woodson and illustrated by Hudson Talbott
Four Honor Books were selected: I Ain?t Gonna Paint No More! by Karen Beaumont and illustrated by David Catrow Earth Mother by Ellen B. Jackson and illustrated by Leo & Diane Dillon Zen Shorts by Jon J. Muth and illustrated by Jon J. Muth Our Tree Named Steve by Alan Zweibel and illustrated by David Catrow
