John Langstaff was the genius behind "The Revels" - exuberant, authentic revivals of holiday musical celebrations and traditions going back centuries. Just the other day I was listening to my favorite CD of Christmas Revels which I always play at this time of year. I shall play it again and honor him.

I'm sorry to have to add a sad note during the Holiday Season but I don't think many have heard that...
JOHN LANGSTAFF died last Tuesday. John was 84 and living in Switzerland. In addition to his music genius, he wrote FROG WENT a-COURTIN' which won a Caldecott in l956 for Feodor Rojankovsky's illustrations.
  He was a remarkable man.
