I like to use rhythmic, lively books in my baby story times. One of my favorites is POTS AND PANS by Patricia Hubbell which can get the whole group clapping and bouncing babies on laps.
NUMBER ONE, TICKLE YOUR TUM and WALKING AROUND THE GARDEN by John Prater are also successful, as are PEEK-A-MOO and the others by Marie Cimarusti
(PEEK-A-ZOO & PEEK-A-PET). In fact, I use lift-the-flap books all the time. FLAPPY WAGGY WIGGLY by Amanda Leslie, the Spot books and the concept books by Rebecca Eiger like JACK, IT'S BATHTIME are standards for me.
WHERE IS BABY'S BELLY BUTTON by Karen Katz and SHOW ME! by Tom Tracy are also good for parts of the body.
