Well, I admit I'm prejudiced--but the first thing that comes to my mind when I hear "books and babies" is Babybug. It's the "looking and listening" magazine for infants and toddlers from the publishers of Cricket. Twenty-four cardstock pages (with rounded corners so babies don't poke themselves!) filled with short-short stories and poems, all illustrated with world-class art in full color. Lots of rhythm, rhyme, and age-appropriate humor. Every issue has a removeable wrapper written by a child development expert, suggesting fun follow-ups to the read-aloud sessions. Perfect baby gift! Email me off list if you'd like a sample copy.
