Two great scary tales I used with primary classes that I haven't seen mentioned here: Celie and the Harvest Fiddler by Vanessa Flournoy, illustrated by James Ransome--which takes place on Halloween and the Jane Yolen version of Tam Lin, illustrated by Charles Mikolaycak, on All Hallow's Eve at midnight.
