Thank you, Mary, for bringing us back on topic. I think we lost that thread...!
I guess I was just trying to say, "Hey everybody! More times than not, these reviewers are FRIENDS, not enemies! If it makes you feel any better, they are as poor as you!"
(Reviewers aren't directly part of the book biz; they are journalists. And they are often freelance, not salaried. But journalists, salaried or not, and book biz folks generally have this in common: they make a DISGRACEFULLY low amount of money.
That's why we ALL--authors, publishers, and reviewers--have to do it for the love of books!

P.S. That said, Mary, your point about Amazon's listing order is a good one. Of course there ARE things authors can do to look out for themselves out there!
