  Join the Children's Literature Connection (CLC) in Troy, NY for a multi-faceted look at history in children's literature!
  The Threads of History, a Children's Literature Symposium sponsored by the Hudson Valley Community College English Department will present keynote speaker, Katherine Paterson on October 29, 2005 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Bulmer Telecommunications and Computations Center Auditorium at the Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, NY. Katherine Paterson is the noted author of many award winning titles, as well as the historic JIP and LYDDIE. Also speaking will be Caldecott Award Winner Emily Arnold McCully, illustrator of THE BOBBIN GIRL and THE BALLOT BOX BATTLE; editor Frances Foster; librarian Kathleen Isaacs; and bookseller Carol Chittenden.
  Symposium fees are $85 for CLC members, and $115 for non-members.
