The Three Birds (by Marinus van den Berg) Waiting to Sing (by Howard Kaplan) Mama (by Eleanor Schick) Remembering Mama (by Dara Dokas)
also, Let's Talk About When a Parent Dies (by Elizabeth Weitzman), part of the "let's talk about" series ...

I would recommend the book titled "Where is Grampa?" by TA Barron. It is a simple book that celebrates the life of a beloved grandparent in a way that is accessible to children.
