I've been smitten with Angela's works since they first appeared as well. Her sparse, yet lyrical prose and poetry can always capture a character or moment with just a few delicately chosen details. And I have been honored that she asked me to write teacher's guides for several of her most recent books- Bird, The First Part Last and The Sweet Smell of Roses. I anxiously await her next book and look forward to sharing them all with my students.
